This "magnetometer" wireless driveway alarm has a range from tranmitter to receiver of approximately 600 feet. The WPA-3000 by Dakota Alert is a consitent performer and is ideal in situations where you only want to be alerted when large metallic objects enter your driveway. The wireless driveway sensor will not be set off by non metallic objects. The "3000" series by Dakota Alert has many add-on accessories.
Components of WPA-3000 Kit:

The WPA-3000 Driveway Alert is a wireless driveway alert that will only detect automobile or other large heavy metallic objects. This driveway alarm is reliable, easy to install, and has up to a 600 ft range to receiver. The WPA-3000 by Dakota Alert is a solid performer ideal for situations where you ONLY want to detect large metallic objects in entering your driveway or street. The wireless sensor will not detect movement by non-metallic objects.
The Wireless Probe Driveway Transmitter, WPT-3000
The trasmitter uses a 9 volt battery that is connected with 50 feet of wire to the probe buried in the ground. The sensor's probe should be buried parallel to the detection area (like a driveway) and will then detect cars within 10-12 feet. The When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter will send a signal to the receiver up to 600 feet away. The Dakota Alert product has undergone technical upgrades over the years. The WPT-3000 is a magnetometer based transmitter meaning it will only detect large metallic objects. The standard WPA-3000 kit comes with a WPT-3000 with 50 feet of cable connecting the buried probe with the wireless transmitter. The WPT-3000 is also available with 125 feet and 250 feet wire for an additional cost * call for details.
You may also purchase additional WPT-3000's to monitor a second or third driveway and have it communicate with the same receiver as the first driveway.
The WR-3000 is the receiver for the 3000 series Dakota Alert Driveway Alarm products. The WPA-3000 kit comes with a WR-3000.
This driveway alarm receiver will alert you when it receives a transmission from the WPT-3000. It is capable of four zones by having four different chime sounds; Classic Chime, Westminster, Whistle, Ding Dong.
The receiver will sit flat on a table or easily mount to a wall. It is a plug-in unit and has four "C" channel form relays (one per zone or channel). The receiver also have a 12-volt DC output terminal for varying accessories.
